What is a Athletic Trainer?

Athletic Trainers are licensed medical professionals who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. Athletic trainers, usually the first healthcare provider on the scene when injuries occur, must be able to recognize, evaluate and assess injuries and provide immediate medical care when needed.

Role of Sports Med

  • Verbal communication
  • Work as a team
  • Spend many hours with male and female athletes
  • Work hands on with injured athletes
  • Cheer directly from sidelines
  • Balance schoolwork and training

Can I join?

If you are interested in joining the Athletics Sports Medicine team, stop by and see Becca Boeving, Holt's licensed Athletic Trainer. The Athletic room is on the lower level of the Holt High School Main Campus.
