This is a 2 semester class and is worth 1 credit. Open to grades 11-12.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Algebra C/D or Honors Algebra C/D with teacher recommendation
A.P. Statistics covers material that is at the college level and will require considerable work outside of the classroom.
- Be taught the objectives prescribed by the College Board program that will allow them to take the Advanced Placement Statistics Test in the spring
- Further study the concepts of probability and descriptive statistics that were introduced in Algrebra D
- Be introduced to concepts and techniques for design of statistical studies and statistical inference such as confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
- Study these techniques in the context of normal distributions, t-distributions, chi-squared distributions, binomial distributions, and linear regression models
